Suzanne Russo is an American writer, editor, and event planner. She has written about the effects of handing out books to strangers (for GOOD), the fun, messy party that is Argentina’s Carnaval (Matador Travel’s book 101 Places to Get F*cked Up Before You Die), and more guides to gift giving than she can count (for YourTango, Marie Claire, Esquire, Redbook, and others).
Suzanne is the managing editor of offMetro SF, a guide to local getaways for city dwellers, and her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including CNN Travel, CBS Watch! National Geographic, and EuroCheapo.
In 2008, she launched Lit Crawl NYC, a raucous literary pub crawl that she expanded to a literary community, featuring annual Lit Crawls in Brooklyn and Manhattan, as well as a variety of other wacky yet smart events. She is now the director of Lit Crawl National, a network of Crawls under Litquake, San Francisco’s literary festival.
Suzanne spent several years in New York City, where she earned her MA in English and American Literature at New York University, before returning to her native San Francisco Bay Area, which she now calls home.
